After a couple of days of speculation and hints, Health Minister Sussan Ley has announced the government is dropping its plan to introduce a co-payment for visiting GPs. The policy, announced in last year’s budget, reflected the government’s determination to introduce a price signal for health care and went through several incarnations before its much-anticipated death.
