HONG KONG, CHINA - Media OutReach - Apr 22, 2015 - We are deeply saddened by the passing of our Chairman and Founder, Joel S. Spira.  He was our leader, our guide, our mentor, our strategist and our friend.  He was so much to so many, and felt that each and every Lutron employee is a part of his family.

Joel Spira brought this company from a dining room table in New York City to making Lutron a global leader with over 2,000 patents, and products that are sold in over 100 countries around the world.

His accomplishments have been recognized with honorary Ph.Ds and the donation of Lutron's products to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History and one product each to the Museum of Modern Art and the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum.

He has led the Lutron companies and the Lutron team successfully for over 53 years and wanted to carry on the strong corporate framework and our principles.  Joel Spira always said that Lutron's accomplishments are due to the contributions of so many people at Lutron.

The Spira family would like me to share the following:

We are asking the entire Lutron family to work together and live by our five Principles:

1.      Take care of the CUSTOMER with SUPERIOR GOODS and SERVICES

2.      Take care of the COMPANY

3.      Take care of PEOPLE

4.      INNOVATE with HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTS

5.      Deliver VALUE to the CUSTOMER
