PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For the 8th consecutive year, the Southern California Permanente Medical Group has been recognized by the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) as a “Top Performing Provider Group” in California based on high overall scores for clinical performance, member satisfaction, chronic disease management and meaningful use of health information technology.
“It is an honor to be recognized for the outstanding care that our physicians provide to our members”
The Southern California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG) has 6,030 partner physicians and provides medical care to 3.6 million Kaiser Permanente members in 13 geographic areas from Kern to San Diego County. The “Top Performing Provider Group” award winners represent the top 25 percent of nearly 200 participating physician groups statewide.
“It is an honor to be recognized for the outstanding care that our physicians provide to our members,” said Edward M. Ellison, MD, executive medical director of the Southern California Permanente Medical Group. “Our physicians have dedicated their lives to helping each and every patient achieve their health potential. These ratings are a public confirmation that patients at Kaiser Permanente receive the highest quality care, whether it’s for prevention, chronic disease management or routine and specialty care. We are so proud of our highly-skilled, compassionate physicians who are improving the health and quality of life of our members.”
SCPMG provides medical care exclusively to Kaiser Permanente members in the following locations: Baldwin Park, Downey, Fontana/Ontario, Kern County, Los Angeles, Orange County (Anaheim/Irvine), Panorama City/Antelope Valley, Riverside/Moreno Valley, San Diego, South Bay, West Los Angeles and Woodland Hills/Ventura.
This recognition is just one of several top honors that Kaiser Permanente Southern California has received in 2013. For the second year, the Kaiser Permanente Southern California Medicare Health Plan has been ranked No. 1 in the nation by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for consumer satisfaction, prevention services and clinical treatment outcomes. Kaiser Permanente was also the only health plan in California to earn the highest possible rating — four stars — for overall quality of care and HMO satisfaction in the State of California Health Care Quality Report Card (2013 Edition).
