WHAT:
On Thursday, September 26 at 7:00 p.m., six national thought-leaders will be taking part in “Making Dough & Making Change: A Social Entrepreneurship Summit.” These innovators will be leading discussions on socially responsible businesses, where a new breed of ‘social entrepreneurs’ are using start-up companies as vehicles to solve social and environmental challenges. The speakers will share their big ideas and how those exciting ventures are making a difference. Following a round-table discussion, there will be an audience Q&A. The event is free and open to the public.
“Making Dough & Making Change” is the culmination of a week-long celebration of the winners of the 2013 Join Our Core Competition (www.joinourcore.com) where, in June, Ben & Jerry’s and Ashoka selected nine young social entrepreneurs from across Europe to win $10,000 Euros (about $13,000 cash), business mentoring, and a trip to Vermont to help them in their quest to change the world through business.
