BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Books-A-Million, Inc. (NASDAQ: BAMM) recently hosted a contest on Instagram and Twitter whereby contestants were asked to post a picture of their favorite book photo, quote, or fan photo from the book, ‘The Fault In Our Stars,’ by John Green with the hashtag: #premiereticketbam.
Book lovers from across the country participated in the contest, with Books-A-Million receiving hundreds of entries across both social media platforms.
John Green’s best-selling novel tells the story of a young girl, Hazel Grace Lancaster, who, despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, has never been anything but terminal -- and her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story, for herself, is completely rewritten.
The book has sold millions of copies since its release and has received numerous accolades including TIME Magazine's ‘Fiction Book of 2012,’ and has been listed as a bestseller by Entertainment Weekly, the New York Times, and USA Today.
Winners of the Books-A-Million contest were mother and daughter, Sandy and Angela Richie from Daleville, Indiana. They were gifted with a trip to attend the ‘Fault In Our Stars’ movie premiere in New York City on June 2.
“We are excited to award this trip to Sandy and her daughter, Angela. Angela’s contest entry, along with the story of her personal journey, showed us her passion for this book,” said Jeff Skipper, Books-A-Million’s Vice President of Marketing. “We wanted to give them an experience they would never forget.”
