NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WhoSay, the first and largest digital publisher powered by celebrities themselves, announced new distribution channels for WhoSay celebrity content including The Huffington Post, Flipboard and Tango. These partnerships significantly expand WhoSay well beyond traditional social media platforms, by adding reach to over 400 million more consumers who want to read, share and engage with authentic photos, videos and messages directly from their favorite celebrities.
“We want to be everywhere fans are consuming celebrity content, and our latest partnerships with The Huffington Post, Flipboard and Tango represent the best of digital media and new content distribution channels,” said Steve Ellis, CEO and co-founder, WhoSay. “The demand for authentic, real-time, ‘celebrity-to-fan’ content is increasing exponentially beyond social platforms to include publishers and messaging apps – and WhoSay is the only platform that can make this shift simple to manage for our celebrity users.”
"Personally engaging with upwards of 14 million followers is no small feat and is something I never wanted to delegate or outsource. Thankfully, WhoSay has made it incredibly easy for me to be active on multiple platforms, as well as advising me on new platforms as they emerge,” said Coco Rocha, fashion model and WhoSay celebrity member. “Through WhoSay's app on my phone, I can reach my fans, wherever they are in the world and across social, mainstream media and now messaging apps. It's a small world again after all."
Celebrities on WhoSay will now be able to directly publish to The Huffington Post Celebrity section from the invite-only WhoSay talent app. This will make publishing content to The Huffington Post as easy as posting to Facebook and Twitter for all celebrities using WhoSay. The WhoSay app currently allows distribution to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Google+, YouTube, China’s Tencent – and People.com. Additionally, for the first time celebrities will be able to directly email their fans from the talent app to deepen their direct-to-fan connection.
Additionally, celebrities can now use WhoSay to post photos, videos and other content directly into a new magazine called "Celebs Unfiltered” on Flipboard. The more than 100 million people that use Flipboard as their personal magazine will see content from Celebs Unfiltered in their own Flipboard when they follow the WhoSay magazine, or celebrity-related sections or topics.
“Many of our readers will love following Celebs Unfiltered because it puts the Instagrams, tweets, videos and other authentic content from the celebrities themselves in one place. Since WhoSay works with thousands of celebrities, this relationship creates a beautiful and robust celebrity magazine on Flipboard,” said Marci McCue Head of Content and Communications, Flipboard.
And in another first, WhoSay is announcing the addition of Tango as a distribution option. Tango is one of the most popular mobile messaging apps with over 200 million downloads, but it is the only one that currently features premium content channels that consumers can engage with as they send texts, videos and other content to each other. WhoSay itself has quickly become the most popular celebrity channel on Tango with nearly 2 million followers.
WhoSay’s more than 1,600 celebrity clients represent some of the most influential names across TV, movies, sports, and music, such as Matthew McConaughey, Channing Tatum, Novak Djokovic, Tom Hanks, and Sofia Vergara, and many more. Combined, WhoSay celebrities have more than 1 billion social media connections.
