LONDON & NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--1E, the global leader in IT cost optimization, has released a new version of its enterprise app store product, Shopping. Shopping 5.1 is the App Store for the Enterprise, that offers an intuitive, consumer-like App Store interface with full integration into Microsoft SCCM to ensure that users are only ever a click away from the software and IT services they need.

This release introduces two significant new features: Microsoft SCCM 2012 Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) Compatibility and Touch Device Support. The updates build out Shopping’s existing capabilities to ensure that the product continues to meet the needs of even the largest organizations with back-end controls and workflow integration to handle all enterprise IT provisioning requirements in one place.

Shopping’s compliance with RBAC provides SCCM administrators with an easy yet comprehensive security model that allows them to allocate and manage administrative permissions by assigning the actions that administrators can perform by using RBAC Security Roles. By adhering to these roles, Shopping ensures that administrators and end-users can only manage or access applications based on their SCCM Security Scope, and that administrators are only able to manage devices and users based on their associated SCCM collections.

In addition to RBAC compatibility, Shopping is also now compatible with the Apple iPad, Microsoft Surface Pro and touch monitors running Windows. As modern enterprises continue to shift more and more toward multiple hardware platforms, these new ways of accessing Shopping will enable organizations to finally move towards a “Single Pane of Glass” for software and service requests between IT and the end-user.

“Shopping was developed to meet today’s enterprise needs, where security is paramount and end users operate on a myriad of devices,” said Shopping Product Manager, Abhishek Chanhock “This release further improves the delivery and management of enterprise software deployment – both for end-user and IT Manager.”

Paul Parke, Vice President of Product and Corporate Marketing at 1E adds, “The new features were driven by demand from our customers, so we’re delighted to enhance Shopping so that it continues to be the App Store of choice for Enterprise software and IT services delivery.”

Other highlights of Shopping include:

Shopping has been deployed across some of the world’s largest companies. With seat numbers ranging from thousands to hundreds of thousands per company, Shopping currently services more than three million seats globally. For more information, visit www.1e.com.
