NASHVILLE, TN, September 25, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- People tend to get dragged into the same vacation or type of vacation every year. For some, it's just easier to plan that way. Others might have found a place they really enjoy and are timid about rocking the boat. Whatever the reason, trying a new location can make vacations much more enjoyable and fulfilling. Experimenting with locations near and far does not mean spending more money. Jeff Bartel discusses Travel + Leisure's top novice places where travelers still get a lot of bang for their buck.

A relative unknown on the list is Langkawi, Malaysia. The destination consists of 99 islands off Malaysia's northwestern coast. Most travelers are unaware of its desirability, so Jeff Bartel agrees it's a top "go now" spot. The main island is perfect for any nature-lover with mangrove and tropical rain forests. Pantai Cenang beach lines the southwestern coast, complete with guesthouses and bars right under the coconut trees. The Tsunami Laksa food truck is a local favorite, serving up hot-and-sour fish soup with noodles. For a soothing oasis, guests can venture over to the northern tip of the island, Tanjung Rhu, which consists of two miles of silver sand and tranquil water.

Moravia, Czech Republic is emerging as Eastern Europe's newest wine region. Despite producing 94 percent of the Czech Republic's wine, the region is still under-the-radar in the eyes of many travelers. The regional capital of Brno is in the center of the city, lined with Modernist houses. It's an ideal place for guests to begin their journey. Jeff Bartel agrees that the city is a sight to see with rolling vineyards and castle-topped towns.

After remodeling its waterfront, this once gritty seaport now attracts quite the sophisticated crowd. The cafes along the edge of the Vieux Port are complimented with ice cream and fish sandwich vendors.

Jeff Bartel concurs that San Blas, Panama is a tranquil alternative to the more popular Bocas del Toro. The city is experiencing an increase in lodging, giving travelers the perfect outlet for a getaway. To arrive, guests can take a short flight from Panama City to Playon Chico. Jeff Bartel notes that guests staying at any of the overwater casitas are in for a special treat. They can elect to be picked up by boat and taken over to the property's private island where snorkelers can see over 75 species of corals and hundreds of types of tropical fish. If they're lucky, a dolphin or two may join in on the action. Places to stay include the Hotel Uaguinega, which is located on a nearby island and houses a beachfront restaurant that serves fresh fish. There are many things to love about one of these exotic vacations.
