Jukeboxlessons features tutor profiles that include the tutor's name, areas of expertise and a biographical section. Also, tutors can upload photos and videos to their profiles. Jukebox's tutor base includes professional teachers, as well as non-academic experts, in 150 subjects.
Essential to the Jukeboxlessons philosophy of education is that tutors should be able to teach and learners should be able to learn with the least amount of resistance as possible. That's why the site doesn't make its tutors endure a tedious registration process or probationary period, Crispo said, and that's why he´s made it so easy for learners to contact potential tutors.
The site's community of tutors features experts from virtually all corners of the globe; one profile reveals a saxaphonist who teaches at Berklee College of Music in the United States, while another profile features a languages tutor in Barcelona who trained at universities in Spain and England.
That tutors with extensive experience and training are posting their profiles on Jukeboxlessons.com is humbling for Crispo.
"It makes you proud when you see someone talented signing up," he said. "You think, 'Wow, this guy is really good!'"
Like Crispo, Jukeboxlessons marketing strategist Renier Bueno is pleased with the tutoring service's growth. In particular, the site's ease of use - after a brief registration process students can contact tutors, set up appointments and pay with just a few clicks - is a big draw for learners.
