The awards were presented Sept. 24 at a banquet emceed by Sean Maroney, weekend anchor of WNCN, at Raleigh's Contemporary Art Museum (CAM).

The Sir Walter Raleigh Awards is a showcase of exemplary work by public relations and communication professionals throughout North Carolina. This annual competition recognizes and honors projects that have achieved excellence in a variety of categories, as judged by an independent panel of judges. This year's awards were judged by members of the Sacramento Public Relations Association.

S&A Cherokee earned awards in all five categories in which it submitted entries, including:

Earlier this year, the firm won 13 InSpire Awards from the North Carolina Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (NCPRSA), two Hermes Creative Awards and one APEX Award.
