FRANKLIN, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IASIS Healthcare® LLC (“IASIS”), a leading provider and manager of high-quality, affordable healthcare services, today announced that its health insurance subsidiary, Health Choice Insurance Co. (“HCIC”), is offering multiple products on Arizona’s new online health insurance exchange. The introduction of these products is part of IASIS’ ongoing effort to provide efficient, affordable patient care using Health Choice’s care coordination expertise.

“By leveraging our proven managed care expertise and population health management experience found within Health Choice, a 22-year-old organization that IASIS has owned since 1998, we are honored to be a key player in Arizona’s Health Insurance Marketplace,” said IASIS Healthcare President and Chief Executive Officer Carl Whitmer. “We also are proud of our unique and market-leading position that allows our company to integrate our provider business with our managed care business in innovative ways that meet the changing healthcare needs across the country.”

The new Health Choice products were designed to meet the varying financial and healthcare needs of individuals eligible to purchase insurance on Arizona’s federally facilitated online insurance marketplace. They serve members in Apache, Coconio, Gila, Maricopa, Mohave, Navajo, Pima and Pinal counties, aligning with the populations already served by IASIS’ long-standing Arizona managed Medicaid and Medicare special needs health plans operator, Health Choice Arizona.

“Through these new marketplace products, our Health Choice business will strengthen its mission of offering high-quality care for Arizonans in need – even as their financial situations change and their eligibility fluctuates between Medicaid, Medicare and subsidized plans purchased on the health insurance exchange,” said Health Choice Chief Executive Officer Mike Uchrin.

Members who purchase the new products through HCIC and who live in Maricopa and Pinal Counties will be able to access care from physicians and other healthcare providers who are part of the Health Choice Preferred Network. Health Choice Preferred Network is a high-performance provider network that includes IASIS’ Arizona hospitals – Mountain Vista Medical Center, St. Luke’s Behavioral Health Center, St. Luke’s Medical Center and Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital – and approximately 300 well-regarded community physicians. Launched by IASIS in 2012, the provider network reflects IASIS’ vision of improving health outcomes through clinical integration and coordinated patient care. The network brings together a large group of high-quality healthcare providers and Health Choice Arizona’s proven ability to provide quality care in a cost-efficient manner, allowing IASIS hospitals and network physicians to collaborate with managed care companies in developing strategies for providing affordable, high-quality healthcare.
