The Parkrun events are free to join, and all ages and abilities are welcome. Runners use a barcode to track their run times online or by text message. The events are held all throughout the UK, with around 200 runners attending each event.

As a member of the management committee, Richard has spent six months gaining the funding for, and approval of, local councillors and park managers to stage this event. North Warwickshire has comparatively short life expectancy and high obesity levels.

As Run Director, Richard is hoping that this event will help to improve the health of local residents particularly those in nearby Tamworth.

Richard is also looking to extend the Badgers Running Club which he and his wife Nivette established in the last 18 months to include a cycling arm.
