SARASOTA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Brides Against Breast Cancer (BABC) is asking recent brides and bridal gown designers to "think pink" by donating their gowns and accessories to support programs and services for cancer patients and their families.
"We need your bridal wear contributions for our Nationwide Tour of Gowns," said Amy Paulishak, senior vice president for the non-profit organization, which is a wholly owned affiliate of the Sarasota-based Center for Building Hope. "Our donors get a tax deduction, help brides-to-be purchase their dream gowns at great discounts and support our services for families impacted by cancer."
The revenue generated by Brides Against Breast Cancer makes it possible to deliver free information and services to thousands of people impacted by cancer. About 80 percent of the proceeds from the Nationwide Tour of Gowns – more than $2 million – supports free programs and services for cancer patients and their caregivers.
Each year, Brides Against Breast Cancer takes its Nationwide Tour of Gowns on the road to more than 120 shows around the country, selling gowns and accessories in all styles, sizes and price ranges. Discounted gown prices average around $600 and range from $99 to more than $3,900. Accessories like tiaras and veils are also available.
Unlike boutique bridal stores that carry only a few lines, each show in the Nationwide Tour of Gowns features hundreds of gowns with a wide assortment of styles and designs, including gowns designed for beach or outdoor weddings. "We are in need of contributions from brides and bridal designers in all sizes and styles," Paulishak added.
"Jasmine Bridal is proud to work with Brides Against Breast Cancer, which is dedicated to helping women in their time of need," said Rachel Krause, promotion specialist, Jasmine Enterprises, Inc. "Locally, we host an annual BABC Charity Sale in Chicago, and nationally we donate our merchandise during Breast Cancer Awareness month. Together, our organizations have combined our expertise and strengths to help aid in the fight against breast cancer."
Paulishak added that BABC is grateful to Jasmine Bridal, as well as the following organizations, which support the nonprofit's programs:
- Bridal Couture of Boca Raton in Boca Raton, FL
- Philadelphia Bridal Company Bridal Loft in Philadelphia, PA
- Something New Borrowed & Blue in Cincinnati, OH
- La Bella Bridal Boutique in Mesa, AZ
- Uptown Bridal and Boutique in Chandler, AZ
- Warren Barron Bridal in Dallas, TX
- Brides and Beaux in Colleyville, TX
Brides who have already said “I Do” can donate their gowns, and receive a tax deduction for a charitable gift. "You can also text the word BRIDES to 85944 to donate $10 to Brides Against Breast Cancer and help us reach more people impacted by cancer," said Paulishak.
