ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Team Novo Nordisk, the world’s first all-diabetes professional cycling team, is pleased to announce a partnership with Orbea bicycles for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
“We are very excited to ride Orbea’s light and fast racing machines. Orbea is a great brand and the perfect partner to help us change diabetes,” says Phil Southerland, CEO and co-founder of Team Novo Nordisk.
Team Novo Nordisk will be racing a full schedule during the 2014 season, including major races in Europe, the Americas and Asia. The riders will be competing aboard the Orbea Orca Performance frameset for all their road racing events, and the Orbea Ordu Race frameset will be their weapon of choice for timed TT and Triathlon events.

“Team Novo Nordisk has done an amazing job of promoting the team within the diabetes community and has the third largest social media following of any team in professional cycling. Our next goal is to make the Team Novo Nordisk and Orbea partnership among the best known in cycling,” says Tony Karklins, Orbea’s North American Director of Sales and Marketing.
Team Novo Nordisk is a global all-diabetes sports team of cyclists, triathletes and runners, spearheaded by the world’s first all-diabetes UCI Professional Continental cycling team. The team’s mission is to inspire, educate and empower those affected by diabetes.
