6 Ways to Unclog a Toilet Without a Plunger

A clogged toilet is a nightmare and it becomes even worse when you realize there is no plunger around. Don’t worry there are many ways to unclog the toilet without a plunger. However, you must keep a plunger at home as it makes the task easier and is recommended by all expert Plumber Sydney. Here are some household hacks you can try to unclog your toilet the next time it gives you trouble.

1. Lots of dish soap: Pour a good amount of dish washing soap into the toilet. The slippery substance will cause the debris to breakdown and slip through the drain. You must be patient and all the dish soap to work on the debris which is causing the clog.

2. Pouring hot water: Pouring a bucket of hot water from waist-level forces the clogged mass down the pipe. You can add soap to the hot water to maximize the effectiveness. Make sure that you do not use boiling water as that can cause the porcelain to crack.

3. Using a clothes hanger: A severe clog would need you to manually remove the item causing the blockage. If you do not have a plunger, you can make a drain snake using a wire cloth hanger by unravelling it till it becomes straight. Push one end into the toilet and prod the debris with it till it becomes lose and free and flows down the drain. If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself, you can call for a plumber who has expertise like Burst Leaking Pipe Sydney.

4. Baking soda mixture: Pour one cup of baking soda and double the vinegar into the toilet. You will notice fizz getting generated, let it be for at least half an hour. If it doesn’t work, top it up with hot water as described in the first hack.

5. Create pressure using a plastic bottle: If you do not have a plunger and not able to reach a Plumber Sydney immediately, start by removing as much water as possible from the toilet bowl. Then pour warm water into a large plastic bottle, now fit the top of the bottle into the toilet outlet and squeeze the bottle so that the water gushes out with pressure. This added pressure can dislodge whatever debris was causing the clog.

6. Use a toilet brush: Try and grab a toilet brush, as this will act as the cleaning wand when you do not have a plunger. The toilet brush can dive deep into the toilet bowl and thrust away all the debris. This task could be a little messy and you may want to dispose the brush after the work is done.

Call from an expert Plumber if you think you will not be able to deal with this situation.

When you have tried all possible means but the problem persists and your toilet remains clogged, the best solution is to call for an expert. Lot of service providers around you would have plumbers specialising in unclogging toilets and Burst Pipe.
