All you need to know about PEPPOL Network

What is the PEPPOL network? How do you connect to this network? The PEPPOL network plays an important role in the process of e-invoicing. But what is this network and why should we use it? We will answer all these questions in this article and describe the benefits of all the invoices through the PEPPOL network also.

What is a PEPPOL network?

  • PEPPOL stands for “Pan-European Public Procurement Online”. This network was established by the European Commission as a test project in 2008.

  • In other words, PEPPOL is an e-invoicing network that allows you to send e-invoices internationally to governments and companies worldwide.

  • The organizations that are now connected by the PEPPOL network can exchange documents like electronic formats etc. with the highly secured and safe network. PEPPOL is a kind of telephone network used for invoices.

For example, when someone drops a text message to you, you can realize that person immediately by their phone-number. The receiver can easily identify the person who is sending a message by their ID called “PEPPOL ID”.

What is meant by PEPPOL ID?

As we have discussed above that a person and companies can identify each other automatically by their so-called PEPPOL ID.

A PEPPOL ID has some unique number, such as :

  • A VAT number

  • Chamber of Commerce number

  • Bank account number of companies

  • The government identity number or government-related agencies.

By using these identification numbers, there are now no more misunderstandings about the sender's identity. The invoices of recipients are also easily identified. Because of this network, typing errors and ghost invoices are not possible now.

Why use the PEPPOL network?

Through the PEPPOL network, the number of businesses asking for in-voices is increasing fast. This network is safe and it is much better than sending invoices by email. It is because the PEPPOL Network provides its users a unique ID that can be used as a recognition point, which results in an automatic recognition process.

To access invoices by the PEPPOL network all you have to need is a PEPPOL ID. Many European suppliers are now sending e-invoicing by this network.

How to send In-voices?

To send e-invoicing by the PEPPOL network you should be connected to a “PEPPOL Access Point”. These access points play a similar role as mobile users do. They provide you the access to mobile internet and them it connects you to the PEPPOL network.

Bottom Line:

So if you are having difficulties in sending e-voices to other countries that you can easily send by this network. Every country has now created their own e-invoicing formats like EHF, Factur-X, BIS V2 etc. With Storecove, you don’t have any need to think about other formats. This e- invoicing automatically coverts the invoice format into the other format which is required by the receiver.

So because of this PEPPOL network you can easily send e-invoices to governments and companies on Australia, newzealand, Europe and Singapore, regardless of their own e-invoice pattern. For example it is very useful. If you are a German company and you need to send an in-voice to Italian government so you will send FatturaPa invoices. I hope now you are aware of the PEPPOL network and its use.
