ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The year 2013 was a milestone year for industry-leading CVO (Credentials Verification Organization) Med Advantage as it celebrated 20 years of service in the health care credentialing arena.
In conjunction with this landmark anniversary, the organization also received coveted recertifications from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC).
NCQA conducts rigorous desktop and on-site audits by a team of health care professionals and certified credentialing specialists, studying several areas of day-to-day operations, including the verification of license to practice, DEA registration, medical board sanctions, education and training, malpractice claims history, Medicare/Medicaid sanctions, work history, practitioner application processing, CVO application and attestation content and ongoing monitoring. Med Advantage is again fully certified for 10 out of 10 verification services, earning its tenth CVO Certification.
Med Advantage also received its sixth URAC CVO Accreditation after a stringent on-site audit in August 2013 with auditors poring over individual provider files and accessing not only credentialing processes, but other areas of operation such as Human Resources.
"Receiving these industry accolades emphasizes our commitment to performance, productivity and expertise," said Med Advantage Founder and CEO John Barrett. "We work hard every day to give our customers the best service possible—and it shows in these recertifications."
After hearing the final results of months of preparation, Barrett thanked management and employees with a company breakfast.
