Fremont County, WY - Once again SnoWest Magazine named the Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail (CDST) one of the top places to ride in the country. The trail landed the No. 5 spot on SnoWest’s Western Guide to Snowmobiling for 2014. It also came in second on the magazine’s “Best of All Time” list since it has been No. 1 four times, in the top 10 all but one year and in the top 15 every year since SnoWest Magazine started the list 18 years ago. The magazine, considered the leading authority on adventure snowmobiling, uses reader surveys to rank trails for scenery, grooming, signage, maps, off-trail riding, snow quality, crowds, terrain, services and weather
“The CDST is a big snowmobile system – one of the largest in the West- that encompasses thousands of acres, but it’s not just the size of the system that we think appeals to snowmobilers,” the magazine said. “It’s what’s between the start and finish points. It’s not just some of the best snowmobiling in Wyoming or even the West, but anywhere in the snowbelt.”
The Continental Divide Snowmobiling trail offers nearly 500 miles of groomed riding between Lander, Wyoming and West Yellowstone, Montana, but the crown jewel of the trail system is Togwotee Pass between Dubois, Wyoming and Jackson Hole, along the Continental Divide.

According to the Wyoming State Trails Program, the Dubois area of the Continental Divide Snowmobiling Trail boast some of the best and most scenic riding in the world. There’s 150 miles of groomed trails and thousands of acres for playing off trail.
There’s terrain providing beginners the perfect introduction to riding, along with fields of powder and steep chutes to challenge and entertain even the most experienced riders, said Jim Moulton who guides trips with the Triangle C Ranch http://trianglec.com
“There’s something for everybody to ride on Togwotee,” he said.
Situated at about 9,000-feet, Togwotee is known for snow that comes early and stays late and is always good. That means it’s already riding season on the Continental Divide Snowmobiling Trail on Togwotee.
“This year,” Moulton said, “the conditions are excellent.”
