PHILADELPHIA, Pa., Feb. 10, 2016 – WebLinc, the commerce platform provider for the fastest growing online retailers, today announced that The Sak Brand Group, one of the largest handbag companies in the country, recently launched three redesigned sites, www.thesak.com, www.sakroots.com, www.elliottlucca.com, on the WebLinc Commerce Platform. The refreshed sites went live in October.

The Sak Brand Group was founded in 1989 and is now one of the largest handbag companies in the country, offering multiple, highly differentiated lifestyle brands rich in texture. The company has offices in New York City, San Francisco, China and Indonesia, designing and manufacturing three very distinct lifestyle accessory brands – The Sak, Sakroots and Elliott Lucca.

This summer, WebLinc and The Sak Brand Group redesigned every aspect of the sites for Sakroots, The Sak, and Elliott Lucca to better represent the brands online. An organic decision by the brand, enhancements to the Sakroots site include improved homepage functionality, enriched product detail pages, a modernized look and feel as well as tying artists closer to the products featuring their artwork. Understanding the importance of establishing an emotional connection between Sakroots’ customers and the brand’s artists and charities, WebLinc customized product page layouts to share background on the artists, the product, and the charities. To better support Sakroots’ ecommerce team, WebLinc completed an overhaul of the product-SKU relationship so that URLs and page metadata are now driven by SKU-specific attributes to facilitate their SEO value and readability.

“Since re-launching all three brand sites with WebLinc, traffic has increased significantly and our customers have come to expect a unique shopping experience when visiting our sites. We turned to WebLinc for a digital facelift: redesign multiple sites at the same time, redo product page layouts, and enhance overall user experience - no small undertaking,” explained Gabrielle Gallo, head of ecommerce at The Sak Brand Group. “With the redesigns, we feel prepared to hit our aggressive online sales goals in 2016 and beyond, thanks to our partnership with WebLinc.”

Helping to engage customers on the refreshed Sakroots site, WebLinc added immersive video and visuals to highlight the retailer’s creative photography. Additionally, WebLinc reworked how products display to shoppers. To advance Sakroots’ mission of supporting charities that share in the belief of peace and harmony among all things, shoppers can now learn of each print’s chosen charity on revamped product pages and the individual artists’ pages. Donating to a charity is easier than ever through a drop-down menu at checkout. Sakroots matches all donations as part of its “Choose Your Karma” program.

“The Sak Brand Group’s ongoing desire to grow their brands and test fresh ideas with WebLinc tends to be when we produce our best work. All three refreshed sites place the company at the forefront of today’s online retailers with updated user experiences combined with simple back-end management,” said Darren C. Hill, CEO and co-founder of WebLinc. “Over the years it’s been a privilege to become true partners of The Sak Brand Group. We share mutual respect and value each other’s abilities.”
