NEW BERN, NC, September 19, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fairfield Harbour, a residential boating and golf community located 15 minutes from historic New Bern, has announced that the community's Harbour Pointe Golf Club raised $4,300 when it participated in Billy Casper Golf's World's Largest Golf Outing held Aug. 12. This year, 110 Billy Casper Golf courses across 28 states simultaneously hosted golf outings with more than 10,000 participants, all in support of the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), which provides programs and services to severely injured service members during the time between active duty and transition to civilian life. Excluding on-site donations, more than $700,000 was raised in total for the WWP this year by Billy Casper Golf.

The Harbour Pointe Golf Club had 17 teams participate in the golf tournament, which featured the designated 18-hole scramble format. With a total of $1,040, Team Holland, comprised of participants Stephen Holland, John Kennedy, Ken Lovell and Christopher Hunsley, raised the largest amount of donations. Team Henke-Hulbert, comprised of participants Sharon Henke, Charlie Henke, Donna Hulbert and Stan Hulbert, won the scramble tournament with a low score of 64.
