HIALEAH, FL, September 21, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Having proven an innovative leader in the roofing industry, Thomas Castellanos, East Coast Metals, Inc. CEO and President, understands that remaining a strong force in the construction market means delivering revolutionary products. According to Castellanos, while the rising rates of construction in the United States have been a positive sign, many developers have adopted new building strategies to make sure that every decision is cost-efficient in the long-term. As a valued manufacturer and provider of reliable metal roofing materials, East Coast Metals encourages builders to examine the immense benefits that can come with using these resources.

Shining greater light on the benefits of metal construction materials, Thomas Castellanos points to a recent article from Today's Facility Manager that discusses certain misperceptions that have surrounded the use of metal materials, both in roofing and general construction. In reference to metal buildings, the article notes that many facility managers may not truly understand the immense advantages that can come from building with metal.

One important advantage is that metal materials can provide a quicker, more efficient construction process. The article states, "...metal buildings can be erected year-round because they are fabricated in a plant for bolt-type construction on the site. This means minimal construction delays for weather." In addition, "Once the building is in operation, [facility managers] can glean savings because of high energy efficiency, low maintenance and long lifespan. Metal buildings systems are often clad with metal roofs and walls. A metal wall system has a standard insulation range from R-16 to R-32, and metal roofing has been proven to lower the urban heat island effect. According to a study by Ducker Worldwide, metal also lasts longer than most other materials."

Thomas Castellanos responds, "While this report assesses the overall value of metal materials for entire buildings, it is important to also take note of how significant improvements can be simply by using these resources in roofing alone. With many concerns over rapid construction, energy costs and environmental protection, it is important that all builders, developers and property owners understand how many long-term benefits metal roofing--and other metal construction materials--can deliver."

Today's Facility Manager also reveals, "[Facility managers] undoubtedly have concerns about building materials and the effects of hail, fire, wind, and snow. Metal performs well in all these categories. In fact, metal buildings have recently been tested for new fire ratings."

For Thomas Castellanos, such evidence should make the choice between conventional construction materials and metal materials much easier for those casting key decisions in property development and construction.
