Presented by the Lakewood Ranch Community Center, Festa Italia celebrates the heritage and contributions of American Italians. It is a fun-filled day full of family activities, including a pizza-eating contest, dog costume contest, and Venetian mask contest. Other activities such as tarantella dancers, a mandolin orchestra, face painting, storytelling, pony rides and crafts round out the day.

Two young singers will also perform, Liza Marie and Marcella Brown. Both singers appeared with Joseph Spinella in illusionAria, the music and magic show that premiered in March 2013.

illusionAria combines powerful, tenor vocals and orchestral music with jaw-dropping magic illusions. Interspersed with circus acts and dancing, illusionAria is courageously innovative and unlike any other show today.

"My goal is for people to leave the show feeling better than they did when they first came in," says Joe. "I am so glad to be able to perform in Lakewood Ranch. Although New Jersey is my home state, I enjoy Florida, especially in winter when the weather is so clement. Singing outdoors in the sunshine adds a special element. And I'm going to do magic and conduct the Sarasota Mandolin Orchestra. It's going to be very entertaining."

Joseph Spinella is a classically trained tenor soloist and performer, offering a diversified repertoire including classical crossover, musical theater and romantic songs. He is a tenor of the new Century and is best known for his charismatic live performances. He performs with orchestras such as the Israeli Philharmonic, Macedonia Radio Symphony Orchestra, Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Princeton Symphony Orchestra, Lake Placid Sinfonietta, Sarasota Orchestra and others. He sings in six languages and his repertoire includes songs in Italian, Spanish, English, German, Hebrew and French.

Spinella is a dramatic tenor with a love of magic. Having studied magic for many years, he is the only classically trained tenor who sings and performs magic onstage. He was discovered by Paul Nadler, conductor of the NY Metropolitan Opera; and Spinella is often compared to another famous Italian tenor from the Met, Luciano Pavarotti.

His performances at Festa Italia are engaging and whimsical, combining everyone's favorite Italian songs with magic illusions. This is reminiscent of his full-length show, illusionAria. illusionAria combines classic Italian music with a storyline line of a boy searching for his true love. The story is told in song and magic. One new English song in the show, 'You Can Trust in Me,' has been submitted for consideration to the Grammy's. Also, under consideration is a new song entitled, 'Never Stopped Loving You.' Both songs were written and produced by Joe Vulpis, of AP Music Entertainment.

"I'm truly honored to have my songs under Grammy consideration," states Spinella. "It is such an honor just to be considered when you think about the competition out in the music world. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that people enjoy the show and support the local talent by purchasing the songs on iTunes. 'You Can Trust in Me' is also going to be part of the show for Festa Italia."

Spinella's songs have been featured on various radio stations in the U.S. The album features poperatic arias and traditional music that exemplifies classic Neapolitan songs.
