The BB&T Lighthouse Beam Occupational Safety Award Program promotes the prevention of workplace injuries through recognition of excellence in safety performance. Of the commendable, outstanding, and excellent categories, the TharpeRobbins award is in the excellent category.
"To have no lost time accidents for one year in a manufacturing and warehouse environment is pretty amazing," says Susan Tolle, senior vice president of talent for TharpeRobbins. "This award recognizes the conscientious effort of every employee at TharpeRobbins to achieve workplace safety so that we were able to remain accident free."
For the past year, TharpeRobbins has maintained an incident rate of zero. The criteria includes the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) experience modification rating, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OHSA) recordable incident rate, workers' compensation policy loss ratio, workers' compensation experience modification (EMR), as well as Basic Life Support (BLS), Days Away and Restricted Time Rates (DART), and the OSHA recordable incident rate. All lost day accidents must be reported to the Industrial Commissions on an annual basis.
"BB&T Insurance Services, Inc. takes great pride in recognizing and celebrating what we call the 'Best of the Best'," says Robert Parsons, BB&T Insurance Services underwriter. "We are proud to include the TharpeRobbins Company in this elite group."
"We are grateful to BB&T for this recognition," says Tolle. "We will work hard to earn this award again next year as we continue our commitment to safety."
