Registrations still are being accepted for SUNY Ulster's academic travel program "Drawing Tour of Rome and Florence," a 12-day study abroad course in Italy.
The three-credit course is part of SUNY Ulster's Winternet offerings that enable students to earn credits during the breaks. The program also is open to non-students and for audit.
The trip from Dec. 30 to Jan. 12 will focus on drawing from the great sights and art treasures of Italy. The tour includes the Vatican Museum and St Peter's Basilica, The Colosseum, Forum, Trevi Fountain, Uffizi Gallery, The Duomo and many other stops.
SUNY Ulster Fine Art instructor Chris Seubert, Program Coordinator of Academic Travel, will teach the course.SUNY Ulster's Academic Travel programs offers affordable international and domestic study options for students as well as the community. These programs are ideal for retirees, adult learners and others who want to travel and learn with others at lower costs than travelling individually.
The cost is about $3,625. Participants can raise money for the trip using Project Travel, a peer-funding organization that helps make educational travel for individuals and groups possible.
Project Travel and SUNY Ulster are working together to make domestic and international education travel programs more accessible to SUNY Ulster students. Project Travel provides a peer-funding platform and advising to students who want to mobilize their community to raise money and social support for these important experiences. SUNY Ulster provides access to the programs themselves, as well as program and financial aid advising.
