MINNEAPOLIS, MN, October 05, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Representatives from Morning Star Financial Services, a national provider of fiscal intermediary services, announced they have signed agreements with the State of Ohio to become the state's sole Financial Management Service provider of self-directed services. Morning Star will provide payroll administrative services via Ohio's state plan services and Medicaid Waivers for persons with disabilities, the elderly and their caregivers. A fiscal intermediary or agent is an organization contracted by state or local government to make payments to employees, manage funds and account for expenditures on behalf of people receiving Medicaid funds.

Morning Star entered the RFP process and won the contract with the state of Ohio in the spring of this year. Since that time, the organization has transitioned services for more than 2500 Ohio residents currently supported by three programs. Morning Star will be the only agency providing these services in the state of Ohio.
