Luxury Jersey Hotels chairman and The Atlantic Hotel's owner Patrick Burke said: "As well as generating a significant amount of national media attention, The Michelin Experience has been one of our higher-selling accommodation packages this year, attracting new interest from a sophisticated sector of the market who may not previously have considered Jersey as a top class dining destination. It is testament to the will to work together displayed by my fellow Luxury Jersey Hotels members that the Michelin Experience has been such a resounding success, and we look forward to continuing to offer the Jersey Michelin Experience to our visitors for another year."
Patrick Burke added: "We are seeing a growing appetite for exceptional and exciting visitor experiences, particularly in the field of gastro-tourism. A curated tasting experience is particularly valuable for an island destination such as Jersey, where we can display the diversity of our local ingredients, whether grown, reared, foraged or caught, combined with the culinary skill of our leading chefs."
The restaurants have also come up with a new variation for local residents, a three-course three-venue lunch starting at Grand Jersey's Tassili restaurant with a superb seafood starter from chef Richard Allen followed by transport to The Atlantic Hotel's Ocean Restaurant where a main course prepared by Mark Jordan awaits, before being whisked back to St Helier for the finale; a dessert creation from Steve Smith, served at The Club Hotel's Bohemia Restaurant. To launch the initiative, two special Michelin Experience lunches are planned for the 16th and 23rd November 2013, with places available for fine dining aficionados to get a taste of culinary innovation from three different Jersey chefs in one day. The three-venue lunch can also be booked as a bespoke event for groups of between 10 and 20 diners.
The Atlantic Hotel's Ocean Restaurant with Mark Jordan at the helm, Steve Smith at Bohemia Restaurant at The Club Hotel and Grand Jersey's Tassili led by Richard Allen along with the brand new Ormer Restaurant from Shaun Rankin were all awarded a prestigious Michelin star in the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2014, reflecting the island's growing status as a leading destination for high quality dining experiences. One of the most recognised and respected accolades in the industry, a Michelin star denotes a very good restaurant in its category, offering cuisine prepared to a consistently high standard.
