In the midst of a civil divide, and with the new presidential elect Petro Poroshenko taking the hot seat, leadership has been a rising topic in Ukraine. The country has hobbled from leader to leader in recent months starting with the fall of President Victor Yanukovych in February, followed by unsettled reactions to Ukraine's interim government. Now, with Poroshenko vowing to take back the country, the Ukraine Leadership Summit officials seek expert advice from General Kolditz.
Kolditz notes that trust will be the turning point for the country's leadership detriment. He elaborates on Ukraine's situation stating, "The country needs leaders who people willingly trust in conditions of threat and uncertainty. Conditions are in extremis: a matter of life and death."
As Ukraine suffered casualties in the hundreds since February, "life and death" are already a reality. While several issues surround the country's political unrest, leadership is the contingent factor that could settle separatists' disputes. The Ukraine Leadership Summit will cover more on this pressing topic at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kiev.
