Teams can participate in different endurance events such as half marathons, triathlons and cycling events while raising funds for Crohn's disease and colitis research and patient services. Many of the participants like Julie Kennedy, a young woman who herself has been battling Crohn's disease for years, are highly motivated to raise funds and find a cure for this disease that affects more than half a million people in the U.S. Most people with the disease can live normal lives but can still experience flare ups and symptoms of the disease on a regular basis.
