"At SACA Technologies, we are always on the lookout for ways that we can help improve our society and the world we live in," said Alexander Saca, the CEO of SACA Technologies. "Cancer for College is truly a great cause and we are glad to support them in any way we can."
The humorous Will Ferrell campaign included a drum battle with Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer Chad Smith, and gave away several funny gifts. Everyone who donated got a chance to win the main prize: a getaway trip with the actor to his annual Desert Showdown in Palm Springs. The campaign ended up meeting its goal and raising $311,953.
With their donation of $1,500, SACA Technologies received 300 entries into the drawing, as well as several unique promotional items designed specifically for the campaign. SACA announced that if they won, they would give away the trip to one of their clients or fans via social media; additionally, they held side contests that gave away the promotional items. On February 27, it was announced that another donor won the main prize.
"While we would have loved to have given a trip to one of our clients, we are excited that we helped a worthy cause not only reach their goal, but exceed it," Saca said. "It is very rewarding to know that we helped provide scholarships for some really deserving and exceptional students."
