Born in Dorset in 1952, Rob received his art education at Banbury and Loughborough, graduating in 1977. Since turning professional in 1981, he has exhibited throughout the UK. After gaining his degree in Fine Art from Loughborough, Rob has gone on to develop his craft using the Scottish landscape and its embedded communities as his inspiration.
Rob's fondness for the community reveals itself in the Lowry-inspired townscapes he paints whilst equally at home with more abstract compositions. Through this approach Rob portrays not only the towns and landscapes but the very life of the communities.
Gallery Director, Raymond Chaplin, comments that Rob uniquely captures the totality of the places he paints, the combination of both the landscape, architecture and the way of life of that community. 'I can think of no better way of celebrating time spent in these places than one of Rob's paintings' says Raymond.
Articulate Fine Art was founded in 2004 and is based in the Scottish Borders, just South of Edinburgh.
