New world first B2B platform lets C level executives turn time into money for charities

MeetMagic CEO Carl Gough

Sydney - Business decision makers and corporate executives are discovering how pioneering B2B philanthropy platform meetmagic is helping turn regular business meetings into funds for the charities and causes they support.

The innovative world first social venture, meetmagic is changing the way business is being done in Australia. meetmagic is re-purposing B2B marketing budgets that are typically set aside for Sales Reps, Events, Conferences, and Lead Generation projects, all of which are aimed at getting one-on-one time with corporate decision makers.

According to founder and CEO, Carl Gough, the platform’s’ primary purpose is to provide a sustainable fund raising model for charities by helping sales and business development executives easily connect with C level business leaders and decision makers.

meetmagic is an online platform designed to reduce the time that sales people take prospecting for business. It allows them to search and build a pipeline of meetings they would like to have with senior business leaders. They can then book or request a 60-minute business meeting or pitch. Once the meeting is completed, a purposefully directed donation is directed to the charity or social cause nominated by the meeting taker.

meetmagic simply puts people together on the platform, connecting two or more executives for a useful meeting, and consequently not-for-profit organisations reap the benefits in the form of the funds they need to continue their work.

The B2B software platform was developed in Sydney, but the start-up’s ambitions are global.  There are already over 50,000 executives from around the world searchable on the network, with many more to be added.

“Our goal is to generate $250 million for charities by 2026, and I believe there are enough good hearted people in the world to make that easily achievable,” said meetmagic CEO, Carl Gough.

“What’s really pleasing is to see the emerging altruistic based approach to meetings, is actually proving to be good for business.

“One of our first clients is Longtail UX, a company that has developed a patented technology to optimize websites for SEM and SEO which turned their very first meetmagic meeting into a contract three weeks later worth over $100,000 and a good charity got supported at the same time.”

By connecting business development people with decision makers directly, they are reducing the time they spend prospecting and the business executives, who are often on boards of charities, get to meet innovative companies that could help their business stay ahead.

meetmagic’s innovate model allows for meetings to take place in an office, over a coffee or in the back of an Uber Black on the way to or from the airport.

“Our belief is that the back of an autonomous car will just become an extension of the boardroom in time,” said Gough.

There have been over 70 meetings with C Suite executives since July 2016, generating over $40,000 for various different charities such as Feel the Magic, Youth Off the Streets, and Oasis Youth Support Network.

Each meeting tells a story.

Digital Technology, Conversations, and Connections Can Change The World.

Dymock’s MD, Steve Cox, turned one hour of his time into 50 books for 50 disadvantaged children, just by meeting with a digital startup. Just one hour of time had a direct impact on the literacy of children. Jalann Van Dyk, CIO at retailer, Kathmandu, turned one hour of his time into paying for 3 Himalayan girls to go to school for the entire year, including their test books, and uniforms.

Jason Millett, senior finance industry executive, investor and advisor to meetmagic said, “meetmagic is bringing much needed transparency to the many meetings that take place in the corporate world. This is the world’s first social-causes-meets-business concept designed to help companies forge new connections, business leaders contribute to worthy causes, and non-profits find much-needed funding.”

“meetmagic offers a win-win-win for socially-minded executives, forward-thinking companies, and the charities are the ones which benefit.”
