Goldman Sachs MLP Income Opportunities Fund Announces Initial Quarterly Distribution of $0.315 Per Share

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Goldman Sachs MLP Income Opportunities Fund (the “Fund”) (NYSE:GMZ) today is pleased to have announced its initial quarterly distribution of $0.315 per common share, payable on the date noted below. On an annualized basis this distribution reflects a current yield of 6.30% based upon an IPO price of $20.00 per share.

The initial distribution schedule is as follows:

Ex-Date:       February 13, 2014
Record Date: February 18, 2014
Payable Date: February 25, 2014
Amount: $0.315 per share
 

It is currently anticipated that a portion of this distribution will be treated for tax purposes as a return of capital and may not consist entirely of distributions from the Fund’s underlying investments. The final characterization of such distribution will be made in early 2015 when the Fund can determine its earnings and profits. The final tax status of the distribution may differ substantially from this preliminary information.

Goldman Sachs MLP Income Opportunities Fund is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company which began trading on the NYSE on November 25, 2013. The Fund invests primarily in Master Limited Partnership (“MLP”) investments, a significant portion of which deliver midstream infrastructure to support growing hydrocarbon extraction. These include investments in pipeline operators, natural gas processors, natural gas liquids fractionators and storage facilities.
