ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Employee Assistance Society of North America (EASNA) will hold its first US lobby day event in Washington, DC, on June 9-10. The event represents an expansion of EASNA’s advocacy program, designed to represent and advance the interests of the employee assistance community in legislative and regulatory affairs at the state, provincial and federal levels.
The lobby day event will be managed by EASNA’s Advocacy Committee that works collaboratively with other organizations and coalitions to create a regulatory and legislative landscape throughout North America that will facilitate the maximum growth and positive societal influence of employee assistance programs.
Lobby day participants will receive training before the event and support in scheduling appointments with both regulators and legislators. They will support a legislative agenda that will be developed by EASNA’s Advocacy Committee and endorsed by the Board of Directors. Registration for the event and supportive training is open to any EASNA member by contacting Executive Director Bob McLean, a registered lobbyist since 1988 (bmclean@easna.org). McLean trains several thousand grassroots lobbyists annually, notably those making their first trip to Capitol Hill.
As the employee assistance industry’s trade association, EASNA advances the competitive excellence of its members by fostering best practices, research, education, and advocacy in behavioral health and wellness that impacts workplace performance.
