DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/c6wmbv/oral_proceedings) has announced the addition of the "Oral Proceedings at the European Patent Office - Repeat of this Successful, Interactive and Practical Course (London)" conference to their offering.

The Oral Proceedings at the European Patent Office course will take place on the 10-11 July 2014 at The Rembrandt Hotel, London

THIS COURSE WILL TEACH YOU:

- The PROCESS - How Oral Proceedings Works

- The PREPARATION - How to get your case ready

- The PROCEDURE - What to do on the day

- The PRESENTATION - Techniques for best results

This course is designed for:

Qualified European Patent Attorney

Trainee Patent Attorneys who have a working knowledge of the European Patent Convention and know how to prosecute an application through the written procedure

HOW YOU WILL BENEFIT FROM ATTENDING THIS COURSE

- Oral proceedings can occur during any stage of a European application; they are appointed in the majority of appeal cases, and in many opposition and examination cases.

- A European patent attorney will almost certainly at some point have to contest a case in oral proceedings, either to defend a client's invention or to attack a patent held by a competitor.

- Your first experience of oral proceedings can be an intimidating experience, particularly since knowledge of your own national system will not cover all that is needed in EPO oral proceedings.

- To defend your client's interests correctly and competently it is vital to know what to expect at this European level and to be properly prepared for it. This workshop will give participants the opportunity to become up-to-date on current practice in the EPO, to work through the essential preparation, and to develop the necessary practical skills and confidence to appear at oral proceedings at all levels at the EPO.

THIS COURSE IS DESIGNED FOR

- Qualified European Patent Attorneys

- Trainee Patent Attorneys who have a working knowledge of the European Patent Convention and know how to prosecute an application through the written procedure.

FORMAT

Teaching sessions followed by practical workshops, including role-play and simulated hearings.

ACCREDITATION

This course merits 11 hours under the UK Solicitors Regulation Authority self-accreditation scheme (ref. CJA/ MAFO) and may also be relevant training under the IPReg CPD self-accreditation scheme.
