

LEAWOOD, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AMC Theatres® is proud to announce it is bringing the highly acclaimed THE CASE AGAINST 8 to the big screen at select AMC locations around the country with the first showings at AMC Burbank 16 in Los Angeles June 6-8 and continuing with a full one week run in the Atlanta, New Orleans and Phoenix markets beginning June 13.
Directed by Ben Conter and Ryan White, THE CASE AGAINST 8 features Jeff Zarrillo, a general manager at AMC Burbank 16 in the Los Angeles area, as he and his now husband Paul Katami, joined Kris Perry and Sandy Stier in an effort to overturn California’s 2008 ban on same-sex marriage, known as Proposition 8.
Shot over the course of five years, with exclusive behind the scenes footage, the film follows the unlikely legal team of Ted Olsen and David Boies – who were on opposite sides of the aisle during Gore v. Bush – as they challenge Prop 8 all the way to the United States Supreme Court, making headlines and history along the way. THE CASE AGAINST 8is the winner of the 2014 Sundance Film Festival Directing Award in the U.S. documentary category and won a SXSW Audience Award in the Festival Favorites category.

Prior to its June 23 debut on HBO, THE CASE AGAINST 8 will play at AMC Burbank 16 at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on June 6-7, and 6 p.m. on June 8.
