With just two days to go until The Event – the auction of 12 Mary Valley properties – in Gympie on Saturday, interested parties are encouraged to go online and take a virtual tour of the properties.

Acting Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning Tim Nicholls said the number of people visiting the Mary Valley website in the past month had passed 8,000, with interest soaring in the past week.

“The activity on the website, combined with the number of people visiting the properties in person and making telephone enquiries, should translate into some vigorous bidding on Saturday,” Mr Nicholls said.

“The three local agents expect a big turnout on Saturday morning as the 12 properties, ranging in size from 2ha to 123ha, go under the hammer.

“This is just one example of the government’s ongoing effort to get the Mary Valley back on its feet after it was ripped apart by the former Labor Government and its failed Traveston Dam bid.”

The Event auction will be held on Saturday 31 August from 10:30am at the Gympie RSL, Mary Street, Gympie.

Representatives from the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning will be on hand to discuss sales opportunities and answer questions.
